The third edition of the ISPI Inter School Six-a-Side football tournament got underway at the Shaheed Captain Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium on Saturday.
Twenty four renowned schools of Dhaka splitting in six groups are taking part in the five-day long event.
In the opening day, Nabakumar Institution and Government Laboratory High School progressed into the next round from Group A.
In Group B, Dhaka Residential Model College advanced into the next round as group champions winning all their three matches while Bir Shreshtha Noor Mohammad Public School and College joined them as group runners-up winning two matches.
Rayer Bazar High School moved into the second round as Group C champions after taking seven points from three matches.
Saint Joseph Higher Secondary School became runners-up in this group leaving Rahmatullah Model High School behind in goal difference.
Earlier, former national football team captain Kaiser Hamid inaugurated the tournament as the chief guest.
The final of the tournament will be held on May 24 at the same venue. The tournament is organised by Cloud MarCom, an event management agency.
